Why you need to try out YouTube’s Yoga with Adriene’s Halloween specials

Halloween is right around the corner, and unfortunately, life right now is scarier than the movies. It can feel like what’s even the point of self-care when the world is collapsing around us.

It’s important to remember: if we take care of ourselves, we stay strong and resilient.

Where Do You Start If Your Day Is Mostly Doomscrolling?

Number one, of course—put down the phone!

Number two, pick it back up and go to YouTube.

If you haven’t discovered Yoga with Adriene, Adriene is the co-founder and face of one of YouTube’s most beloved wellness channels.

Her channel offers free yoga practices of varying lengths and difficulties for basically everyone. There are videos for people experiencing grief, anxiety, or loneliness, and even yoga for specific activities or professions — like yoga for golfers, service workers, writers, and more.

She’s created a space where you can learn yoga judgment-free, right from home. I love finding a new practice inside her catalog of over 700 videos—or revisiting one that fits exactly what I need that day.

Why Yoga with Adriene Works

Yoga with Adriene has been so successful because of Adriene herself.

She always shows up authentically—welcoming, funny, and deeply human. She’s not afraid to try something out of the ordinary or lean into the moment.

I remember doing her practice for when you’re angry, and part of it was laughing. It was so freeing and therapeutic.

But we’re not here for that—we’re here for Halloween! 🎃

Yoga with Adriene’s Halloween Yoga Practices

Remember the “leaning into the moment” I mentioned? Adriene loves leaning into Halloween yoga.

Her Halloween yoga catalog includes 11 themed videos, and a twelfth one is expected this year!

The earlier practices focused on spooky-ish yoga fundamentals like:

  • Corpse Pose
  • Breath of Fire (very Game of Thrones!)
  • Wild Thing

As her channel grew, she began creating more Halloween-themed yoga experiences.

Some are lighthearted, leaning into costumes and fun—like:

  • Yoga for Inner Space Travel (where she dressed as an alien)
  • Bride of Plankenspine (where she dressed as the Bride of Frankenstein)

Others take a more introspective approach, like:

  • Yoga for Healthy Blood Flow
  • Yoga When You’re Feeling Dead Inside

My favorite (especially for where we’re at right now) is Yoga for When You Are Feeling Scared.

The intro is straight out of The Blair Witch Project—Adriene looks realistically scared, the forest sounds play in the background, and then she drops her signature line (in character):

“Hop into something comfy and let’s get started.”

Like all her other practices, it perfectly sets the tone for healing—with a bit of Halloween flair.

Why Self-Care Matters (Especially Right Now)

Yes, the world feels heavy right now—but this is when self-care matters the most.

You are allowed, encouraged, and honestly required to carve out space for yourself.

Yoga is a powerful way to get moving while connecting your breath and body for overall healing.

That’s huge—and Yoga with Adriene offers a space to learn yoga that’s not boring or intimidating.

She brings humor, humility, and heart to her teaching.

(PS: If your schedule is too busy to do yoga? Then this will help!)

Swap Doomscrolling for Downward Dog This Halloween

This spooky season, trade your doomscrolling for one of Yoga with Adriene’s Halloween specials.

And don’t forget to hop into something comfy when you do. 🧘‍♀️🎃
